Lotz Park T-Ball Field Project

The Village of Boyd and the Boyd Little League Started to construct a functional T-ball field at Lotz Park in Boyd, Wisconsin.

The Boyd Little League is a 50+ year organization in the community. It consists of 90 T-ball players and 100 Little League players, who play on the big field, from Boyd, Cadott, Stanley and other surrounding communities. The League serves children in 1-8 grade.

For many T-ball seasons, the Boyd Little League utilized Lotz Park green space as a makeshift T-ball field. At the beginning of the season, a snow fence backstop was put up and rubber bases were put down weekly. There is no seating and the field is set up so that balls are hit into the fans watching on the other field.

In the Late Fall of 2021 the project began with the removal of an old and unusable tennis court.  The infield had drain tile installed, and fill dirt was brought in for the settlement over the winter.  This Spring, along with dugouts, a fence will be erected around the field, both for function and safety to keep the kids from the road & bases will be laid to complete this project.  The estimated total cost of the project is $31,502.38.

To date, Northwestern Bank, Boyd Little League, Boyd Lions Club, Travis Geist Memorial Tournament, Stanley’s Sportsman Club & a Park/Recreational Grant from The League of Municipalities have already collaborated with the Village of Boyd to this project. Donations are accepted at the Boyd Village Clerk’s Office located at 705 E. Murray St. in Boyd or sent via mail to Village of Boyd, PO Box 8, Boyd WI 54726.
